When I met my husband, he was a tour guide for safaris in Southern Africa. For me, as a veterinary receptionist, this was very very exciting. As you have read in my previous blog posts, my brother and I grew up in the bush as my parents took us on many safari excursions from a young age. So, I LOVE THE BUSH!
Slowly but surely, my then-boyfriend, now-husband got me into the tourism and safari industry. This, to a point where I resigned at the veterinary practice and put all of my focus in this new industry. I was very scared as this was a complete new challenge for me.
Ettienne introduced me to Kavi, owner of Kruger Adventure Lodge, Kurula and now also Boteti Tented Safari Lodge in Botswana. One can say that Kavi is my teacher and mentor in this industry. I first started with doing only social media marketing for Kruger Adventure Lodge. Last year, Kavi asked me to join forces and get his new lodge in Botswana up and running. And since then, I never looked back.
I would say that the best part of the job would probably be getting to go on safaris and staying at Kruger Adventure Lodge! The second best will probably be that feeling one gets when your first tour is confirmed/booked! After all the hard work of creating content, advertising, managing website content, finally pays off!
I have had the privilege of meeting some of our guests face to face, others, I am yet to meet! But come and visit us at Kruger Adventure Lodge and maybe we will have a drink together!
